Two-person transitions where one hand swipe changes the background

Two people face each other and swipe up, left, and right, shooting the exact same motions in two locations and cutting them together on the swipe. Add keyframes and motion blur and the gesture looks like it's flipping the scene.

Editor's note

Since it's a two-person formula, it fits staff intros and before-and-afters, like the shop before and after a makeover. The whole trick is keeping the motion sequence identical in both locations.

How to do it

1. Hold the phone horizontal and film two people swiping a hand up, left, then right, in two locations
2. In CapCut, cut the tail of the first clip and the head of the second at the swipe moment and join them
3. In a new project, keyframe the screen to move with the hand's direction, then export once more to add motion blur
